ABOUT
Yuvel Soria is a diasporic artist; heritage, (dual) nationality, locality, ethnicity and culture are the central elements to his artistic enquiry whilst traditional Bolivian dance, Latin and contemporary dance are the main elements in his movement vocabulary, he has a multidisciplinary approach to his creative process and within his collaborative projects adn now he is moving into developing a more diverse practice, which straddles live art and performance.
Yuvel Soria was born in Bolivia and is trained in traditional Bolivian dance and has toured extensively South America with Ballet Flolclorico Municipal de Cochabamba, a contemporary traditional Bolivian dance company who toured from Chile to Colombia from (1994-2004). In 2004,
Soria moved to the UK and trained in contemporary dance and has since developed as a freelance dance artist, choreographer and facilitator. |
He is an experienced community dance practitioner with projects in Newcastle and London. Soria joined TIN Arts as a dancer for FLEX dance Company in 2014 and began his career with PARKED in the autumn and toured through to spring, he has continued working with the company as a dance practitioner as well as a performer to date. Yuvel has not only danced his way across the Latin America he has performed across the Uk with Balbir Singh Dance Company and saw success with his Arts Council funded 'Retratos' in 2016.
